On the use of IMU (inertial measurement unit) sensors in geomorphology

چکیده

Inertial measurement units (IMUs) are mobile sensors assemblies constructed using a combination of MEMS (micro electrical mechanical systems) accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers. Both the technology its applications to geomorphic problems developing rapidly, since they demonstrate prospect monitoring individual sediment grains, various sizes, during transport at high frequency. This has numerous implications which range from hazard identification warning complex theoretical derivations for modelling. At same time, deployment IMUs needs be underpinned by number technical considerations regarding limitations physics inertial measurements. IMU measurements should reported in manner that allows clear understanding scope study, with sufficient detail repeatability error characterization. secondary level, linked clearly motion. Here author highlights five issues can lead misinterpretation His is begin dialogue towards collective agreement on presentation/reporting protocol studies will allow coherent contextualization accelerate scientific impact within geosciences.

A Foot-Mounted Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) Positioning Algorithm Based on Magnetic Constraint

With the development of related applications, indoor positioning techniques have been more and more widely developed. Based on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and geomagnetism, indoor positioning techniques often rely on the physical location of fingerprint information. The focus and difficulty of establishing the fingerprint database are in obtaining a relatively accurate physical location w...

Inertial Measurement Unit Simulator

During the last few years microminiaturized inertial sensors were introduced in many applications. Their small size, low power consumption, rugged construction open doors to many areas of implementation. The main drawback of these sensors is the influence of different type of errors, leading to an unavoidable wrong position and orientation estimation. In the paper a simulator of Inertial Measur...

Precision and Reliability Incensement of Inertial Navigation System with Rotation and Redundancy

Precision and reliability are two main performance characteristic in low-cost Inertial Navigation System(INS). Increase of precision in low-cost INS without auxiliary sensors is main challenge. Bias instability leads to position drift error in inertial navigation system. In addition, fault occurrence makes the sensor reliability is decreased. Rotation of Inertial Measurement Unit(RIMU) and use ...
